Why is the service being terminated?

As the tracking landscape continues to evolve, we have increasingly found that a standalone vehicle logbook is no longer required. Consequently, after much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to shut down GPS Log Book.

When will the service officially end?

The service will officially end on 1 May 2026. After this date, you will no longer be able to access the service or your data. Please ensure that you run all necessary reports before this date.

Is there anything I need to do?

You should make sure that you have downloaded all necessary reports before 1 May 2026 as the information will no longer be available after this date.

Are you still selling hardware?

We have ceased selling GPS Log Book Classic devices and GPS Log Book Live devices in Q1 2024.

What happens with my subscription?
  • GPS Log Book Classic Annual – not after 1 May 2025 
  • GPS Log Book LiVE Monthly – not after 1 April 2026 
  • GPS Log Book Live 6 Month – not after 1 November 2025 
  • GPS Log Book Live Annual – not after 1 May 2025 
How can I export my trip data before the service ends?

You can export your trips in the usual reports and formats available on https://my.gpslogbook.co.za/PrivatePages/Reports/Reports.aspx until 1 May 2026. 

Is there a deadline to export my data?

Yes, please ensure you export your data by 1 April 2026, which is 30 days before the service termination date.

What happens to my data after the service ends?

After the service ends, all user data will be permanently deleted from our servers to protect your privacy.

Will there be any support available after the service termination date?

No, all services will be terminated 1 May 2026.

How will the termination affect my tax records?

Your exported data should be sufficient for maintaining your tax records. We advise you to download and securely store all necessary data before the termination date. You will have two months after the tax year closes in February 2026.

What steps are being taken to ensure data privacy during the termination process?

We are following strict data privacy protocols to ensure your information is securely handled and deleted after the service ends.

Can I continue using the service on a limited basis or as a standalone product?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the service on a limited or standalone basis. The entire platform will be discontinued.

Will there be any updates or changes before the service ends?

No further updates or changes will be made to the service before it ends.

How will I receive updates about the termination process?

We will keep you informed via email and through notifications on our website. Please ensure your contact information is up to date.
